Getting Help and Support Individuals, couples or organisations seeking my services are invited to contact me to arrange an initial appointment. This will be a chance for us each to decide if we you could benefit from working together and there is no obligation to arrange further sessions. It is important that you find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and this may not necessarily be the first counsellor or psychotherapist you see. Many people seeking counselling for the first time find this a nerve-racking prospect. It can feel like an enormous step to take. Occasionally they may feel they are 'weak' for needing help. My own view is that facing up to problems and tackling them requires great courage. I will do my best to make the process as easy as possible. I will offer you an appointment as soon as I can. Depending on your flexibility with the time of day you are available, this can be within a few days and is rarely more than two weeks. Telephone You may contact me by telephone on 01484 847246. If I am not available please leave a message with my secretary or on my answering service (both of which are confidential). I will return your call as soon as I can. This is normally within 48 hours. I usually respond to emails within 24 hours but over weekends and at holiday times please allow up to 4 days for a response. Please include details of how you prefer me to contact you (e.g. phone/email). Feedback I welcome feedback. If you have any feedback about this site I will be pleased to hear from you. Let me know if you find any 'dead links' or if any part of the site isn't working properly. I find this very useful as the site can look different on different PCs and in different browsers. This also applies to constructive critique! I encourage feedback from all visitors, whether or not they regard themselves as potential clients! This helps me to provide the kind of web site that potential or actual users of therapy, health professionals and students may find most useful. Marsh & Lindley Residents If you are a patient of Westbourne Surgery (Drs Aggarwal & Bairstow http://www.westbournesurgery.co.uk) or Lindley Village Surgery (Drs Spencer and Schembri) you can see me in your GP's surgery. If you are referred by your GP there you do not pay for the initial session on first referral. Further sessions are of course chargeable. If you are a GP or Practice Manager who would like this facility in your surgery, please contact me to discuss. Getting Further Information, Media Enquiries or Research If you require further information or would like specific information on a particular topic, I keep extensive files on psychotherapy-related issues and I may be able to help. I also have much information on research in therapy and considerable experience of conducting research projects, over a period of 20+ years. I am happy to respond to requests from the media or to provide a comment or reflection on issues appropriate to my training or experience.
