From M62 J24

Leave M62 at J24. Down to roundabout. Take first exit signed 'Rochdale A643 (A640)'. Run parallel with M62 passing 'Wappy Spring' pub on right after a mile or so.

From Halifax

Take Huddersfield road (A629). At Ainley Top roundabout (Cedar Court Hotel) take 4th exit signed Rochdale (A640). Run parallel with M62 passing 'Wappy Spring' pub on right.

From Huddersfield

Take A640 New Hey Rd from Town Centre following M62 West/Rochdale. At Roundabout Junction with M62 (J23), take 2nd exit following Rochdale A640. Now go to Main Directions below

Main Directions

You will pass the ‘Old Golf House’ hotel and will be running parallel with the M62, at one point passing over it on a bridge. You'll stay on this road, passing the 'Lower Royal George' pub on your right. Just by the next pub ('Jack O'Mitre') turn left which is a left fork into a road called 'Pole Gate'. You'll see a radio transmitter on your left as you go up hill.

Quarter of a mile uphill, over the brow and then as you drop downhill it's only 200yds or so and you turn second right into Laund Road, which is kind of a right fork. Note your milometer and go for 0.7 mile, dropping gently down hill. The road twists and turns and there are several side roads but stay on this road for 0.7 mile.

After this distance take a left fork turn into Tyas Lane (marked clearly as a no thru' rd but OK for access to me). Birks Farmhouse is the first house on the left, after about 150 yards. Pull off the road after the house into the driveway by the sign which says "Sat Nav Wrong, Use Brain". You'll see either a black Volvo or silver Land Rover down the drive. Please park between them.

If you miss my drive you can turn around in the entrance to the 2nd house along but do not progress further than this down Tyas Lane as it turns into a footpath!

Clients arriving for the first time understandably often arrive early. I have no waiting room facilities at this address so if you do arrive early, please hang on until the appointment time. This will allow the person who is before you a chance to leave and will maintain confidentiality for all concerned. If you arrive early there is parking in the drive just before the house. Use the drive after the house once you are ready for your appointment.
