This site carries information about counselling, psychotherapy and personal development

What is counselling? Is it different from psychotherapy? How exactly does it work? And could it benefit you? I have prepared this web site as a general guide for potential users of therapy. Some readers may be potential or new clients of my service, but whether you are seeking information on me as a therapist specifically, or on counsellors, counselling and therapy in general, I hope you will find this site useful.

Please note that it is by no means necessary to read extensively about therapy before seeking help from either myself or any other professional. However, I know that some people find it useful to understand the basics of the process and others need to know the detail of what is involved. This site tries to cater for both.

It attempts to answer some frequently asked questions about counselling and psychotherapy ('FAQs'), details different approaches to therapy, provides some information about my philosophy and approach to my work and has fairly detailed information on anxiety and depression, low self esteem and other common situations that clients often want to discuss.

There is also a section in which I discuss Personal Development and my work as a Life Coach with individuals and organisations in both the private and public sectors.

Whilst reading my web site may help you, the information is for general guidance and should not be considered a substitute for professional help from a qualified practitioner.
